India Looks lot more fresh this way! Bangalore is north and Delhi is south.....all north indians are south indians and vice versa. Let us make east north so that the west becomes south.
Cool! Perhaps then there would be no more problems of insurgency in the east & north, drought in the west and both south & north India would still have magnificent traditional architecture buildings!!
:)
I am still worried about central India though...as Rayalseema, Telengana & Madhya pradesh would still be isolated from development!
And perhaps Bangalore would loose out its famed climate...but naturally! :(
Cool idea though! Kiran...ninna kidney channagi upayougisiddiyaa!!
Every time i listen to our classical music...i withdraw two steps to learn something new. One is blessed to listen and appreciate good classical music. An artiste presents his prayer and you are privileged to share a joy with his affection of sound. A mutual sharing of spirit. The performance starts with a silence(aroop, absolute absence, null, abyss of silence)...i feel the highest form of beauty...'the nothing'...i feel very happy....later the tanpura welcomes...(pa/ma..sa,sa,sa mix)....tells us there is a shruti....singular divine sound... Next comes the Sat/chit....concentrating on ones own self and spirit...getting conscious...getting aware...getting into life.....(preparing oneself to pray) then starts the 'alap'....the painting of the rag only by the 'swars' and 'shruti', the melody is the physical output and your inner spirit is responsible for beauty.....'alap' is an environment of great forms of sounds....goal is to picture the rag rightl...
A nice weekend drive to B R Hills, deep into the beautiful forests simply got me thinking. It made me wonder how mankind has tried experiencing, learn, live, exploit nature - a mysterious biological system which we have no clue of or will we ever have! I had very few choices - either i had to dig the inferences of hundreds of people and their studies to know what it is, possibly to see how little they have discovered. Or i had to dive into some poets lively imaginations to feel some beauty of his words, plain pleasure. Or i could talk to people of the forest, see how they lived, what they felt and get some stories of their livelihood. Or simply rely on what little i feel. I stopped worrying and simply looked at my little son enjoying all the green around :-). Nature, i guess, it has its own purpose, mechanism of existence which we do not know deeply. It is designed to satisfy a larger need beyond the comprehension of 'man'. Hence nature cannot be investigated keeping man i...
My sister many times calls fellow young musicians to her practice den and they practice and discuss together in a good spirit. Yesterday a young talented and enthusistic lad - Omkarnath Havaldar came over to sing along few devotional songs which they had to perform in a concert. Me and my sister wished to listen to his classical talent. He was nice and he sang rag Madhumad Sarang which was one of his favourites. The rendering and swar patterns were amazing and after the brief recital, all three of us stood silent for a long time to sink in the idea of the beautiful rag. Ofcourse this was due to his excellent rendering. While he sang, I noticed sound being present all over the place. Even behind the artiste. I went out to test and realised that, the musical sounds were present almost in every part of the space all around him upto aound 25 feet. This was a breath taking experience for me since I was enjoying the sound very pecularly in all directions. There was no use of mike. I felt li...
