Politics of look and fiddling creativity!

Sunil Khilani articulates the form of political forces, ideological stands, ideas of governance and resulting events and developments in shaping the management of our country, in his book “Idea of India” (Penguin). He narrates Nehru’s success of making India into a state – centralization of power borrowing from the west, Indira Gandhi’s reactive politics resulting in rise of regional politics(communists of Kerala), caste politics (V P Singhs Mandal commission), capital politics to Hindu Nationalism (BJP) and parallel liberalization (Corporate India) with crisp and wit. My thoughts start from his reading. What interests me though is to watch the story of political events and seeing the finality or its expression in Architecture. Here I go! It was simply visible and trying to convince me a point of understanding. We have always read that architecture reflects the cultural life of people but how? I recently visited the biggest mall in the city -the Metro. It was huge and high and we looked very small in front of the display of objects. Looked like many other things are bigger than you are! Nowadaays shops have become so big. I remember the Perryswamy's shop....conjusted and small and all the things which my house needed. He was dark and looked darker inside the dark shop. I wondered how he used to search for all the things I ask from a needle to rice. He was always sucessful. I coudnt see a thing inside his shop and just stuck to list given by mom, I was 8 then. I remember the jute thread and news paper, the common packaging materials to pack everthing. Once packed everthing looked same! I had to fight for a small step in the corner to interact with him when the shop was busy. I was short and I had no other way of getting things from his shop. Perryswamy took the exact money and gave back the change which I counted with half heart not to show that I dont trust him. I often

My Nat Geo Expired ! and other things

Well I used it for a year.....I really dont know what was the great use of a world map on the top of a blog page but certainly it was standing like a crown! It made the composition a bit unbalanced but with very few options for composing the template, I had compromised a lousy place for the world map! I have been touring all these days and had removed my anxiety about blogging. I was away from the world of internet and far away from the latest updates of the web world. I was enjoying my new camera D40 and the pictures it captures. The mornings are very silent and long (for me) as the monsoon covers my roof top and pours making everyleaf get its share of warm drops. The tree in front of my office took exactly three days to shed all the leaves (which started from bottom). It has flowerd the most exotic flower I have ever seen. I never wanted to see more words on this blog but language is something we have created for ourselves to reflect. "You must not find symbols in everything you
