Mausam

Image
Sometimes you are simply lucky if you find some good movies shopping. You search the DVDs and its simply hard to choose a good one. Movies seem to be like memories of dumb stories, unecessary violence, conflicting family drama, stressed comedy....etc all in the name of entertainment. Very few are truly expressive. Very few creative directors are able to "make" a movie, weave it and give a clear expression. Gulzar does it in Mausam exceptionally well. Its so refreshing to see a non judgemental, well woven and sensitive theme so beautifully shown.

In winter still

I happened to listen to Umesh Shukla the creator of "In winter still". Soft spoken and enthusiastic about the computer animation world, he is exploring painting world for newer experiences in animation movies. He showed a delighting colorful movie about 'Monet and his garden'. Their team are working on developing soft tools for a new kind of animation experience. Forbidden Temple

Image
Unkal is a small village adjoining the city of Hubli. I regularly visit my aunt and love to move around the village. People are occupied with farming and some getting adjusted to the city culture around and all engaged into their daily chores. One can hear the "thut thut" sound of the making of the rotis (bhakris) and the cry of children all around. My cousin once mentioned about an old temple right in the middle of the village but didnt had any access to reach. I was naturally curious as well as excited to see it. We crossed the huts and passages and unbelievingly bumped at this astonishing piece of Indian Architecture - The Chandra Mouleshwar Temple. These days I am no more interested in the history which feels like huge burden of stories never experienced rather I was overwhelmed buy the expressive temple. It shouted elegant stone work, stories and well crafted. The temple of shiva was a delight to watch.

Savakka's Phone

Image
Savakkas son installed a new public telephone in the village of Asundi. Not many use it though as his house is in the interiors of the village. Children of the school bump into this phone daily. It is simply an object of play. They insert a coin from the top and act like pressing the buttons and also reherse a conversation before reseting it to get back their coin. They are amused to see the coin coming back. Almost every child small or big attending the school who take this road seem to use it. During the time it has become popular as play phone! ........till Savakkas son will find the reason for its popularity.
